Lovely and Inspiration Coloring Book – printed on one side of heavyweight perforated paper This is a really wonderful coloring book filled with many Christian-based designs. I also want to mention immediately that it is one of the better made coloring books that I have purchased but more about that later. The coloring book has 50 pages of designs and additional bookmarks, tags, and cards that you can color and cut out for your use.What I love about the book is that almost every one of the designs is Christian-based. Many Christian coloring books only devote one third or so of the design pages to providing a Christian message. In this book, page after page is devoted to Bible quotes. The words are incorporated into the design and are part of what you will color. That will make it easy to meditate on the words while I am coloring. The verses are also cited so it is easy to look up and see the words in context.The book is very well made. The cover is extremely strong hardboard. It is printed on one side only of heavyweight perforated paper. The binding is at the top and is spiral bound. The print quality is excellent and dark. I really appreciate this binding as you can flip to any page and have access to the entire design. The cover then becomes a portable “desk” which allows you to color easily when on-the-go. While I am not a “lefty”, spiral bound works fantastic for them as they don't have to color over the “hump” of the binding. A few of the designs extend beyond the perforations, which is a little frustrating. I won't remove these from the book as I will lose a bit of the design if I do. This could be easily solved in future additions to this series by sizing the design to fit below the perforations.This is printed on great paper. All of my alcohol-based markers bled through but none of my water-based ones did. Gel pens worked fantastic as well and did not bleed through or leave shadows at the back. Coloring pencils worked nicely as well and behaved according to their type of lead (soft/hard core.) This publisher also published a book geared at a younger starting age (but I like it, too!) which has a grade of paper I wish they had used for their other books. That book (“Inspirational Coloring Book for Girls”) does not even allow for alcohol-based markers to bleed through. In any case, put a piece of card stock or chipboard or even heavyweight paper below the page you are working on and you will prevent ink from seeping through.These are the coloring medium that I use for testing. If there is something else you feel I should be testing, please let me know and I will see if I can add it to my growing pile:Markers: 1) alcohol-based – Copic Sketch, Prismacolor double ended markers (brush and fine point), Sharpies (fine and ultra-fine) and 2) water-based – Tombows dual end markers (brush and fine point), Stabilo 88, Staedler triplus fineliners, and Pentel markersGel Pens: Sakura, Fiskars, Uni-ball Signo 0.38/0.28 and TekwriterColoring Pencils: Prismacolor Premier Soft Core, Derwent Colorsoft, Prismacolor Verithins, and Faber-Castel Polychromos... has both scripture in it and that has a good quality page I can color on I have really started getting into the Adult Coloring recently and I am always on the lookout for a book that has both scripture in it and that has a good quality page I can color on. This book by Christian Art Publishers is my ALL TIME FAVORITE that I have purchased anywhere!!The book itself is bound at the top so it makes it easy to flip to the page you are working on and fold it so you aren't dealing with the binding of the book interferring with the page you are working on. The pages themselves are beautiful!! Each one has a verse and the picture describes the verse or goes along with it in some way. The quality of the paper is nice enough, that I have several that I am going to pull out of the book and put in frames to hang in my kids room. I color with both gel pens and colored pencils and love the way they both react to the pages in this book!! I have included some pictures so you can see some of the pages and the quality of the drawings. I will be purchasing more from this company! I paid retail price for this product, with no promise for a review.great paper and spiral bound at the top make this ... Police Procedural with Something Extra I rarely agree with the crowd, but, this once, I am on board with all the other reviewers:If I were looking for a story that was written to appease all the key points of interest to me, it would be difficult to find a literary work more on point than the latest novel by Michael Connelly. To be sure, it isn’t perfect, but it is as near the ideal police procedural as I could ever hope to read.BLUSH FACTOR: This is not a story to share with children or your church prayer group. Street talk includes profanities (eff-words) and the affection of the two main heroes, although not overly graphic, will cause blushing if you read it to others. In fact, the description is tastefully done. This definitely is a crime story for mature audiences. Mature, but not obscene in any way, shape or form. PG-17, not R would be my thinking for a rating.THE WRITING & EDITING: If you’re not turning away due to the blush factor, I believe you’re going to appreciate the quality of writing and editing – there is a reason the selling price is set as it is. Quality, big-name writers cost big bucks, and editors are well-paid to ensure the text is free of those persnickety typos, grammatical errors and misspellings, then, often, put back in to protect against copyright infringement.EXCERPT‘…led her out of the cell and back to the door to the Public Works yard.“You looked at the book and the photos, right?” he said.“Yes,” she said. “Everything that was digitized.”They walked into the yard, which was a large open-air square surrounded by walls. Outstanding Edition for Novelists I've been using Blake Snyder's Save the Cat! model for years in my written stories. As others have said, it adapts extremely well from screenplay to novel writing. I've seen a substantial improvement in my novels since I read the original Save the Cat! book.Jessica Brody has (in cooperation with Snyder's publisher) made an outstanding edition of this for novelists. I was pleasantly surprised to find many new insights that had not occurred to me. I am quite convinced it will help me further.If you are unfamiliar with the Save the Cat! method, get this book! If you are familiar, it is still worth it, for those new insights and more directly novel-oriented approach.As a long-time pantser (one who writes by the seat-of-the-pants instead of using a preplanned structure,) I was skeptical of the model. This was seriously the most comprehensive, engaging & applicable book on novel writing I've read to date! It's something that has already helped me improve my current WIP and helped me outline book 2! With how much information is packed in here, I will be pouring over it again and again and using it as my novel-crafting-manual from here on out.
